No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (17-13) defeated on the road 14th ranked Chalons-Reims (12-18) 99-90 on Tuesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Chalons-Reims won third quarter 29-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket won last quarter 28-21. They shot 61.0 percent from the field and made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Justin Harper (208-89, college: Richmond) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. International Amine Noua (202-97, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 23 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American LaMonte Ulmer (198-86, college: Rhode Island, agency: HMS) who recorded 18 points and his fellow American import forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia, agency: Octagon Europe) added 21 points respectively. Five ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket and four Chalons-Reims players scored in double figures. Chalons-Reims' coach Cedric Heitz tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Dijon. Loser Chalons-Reims keeps the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket will face Gravelines-Dunkerque (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chalons-Reims will play against Hyeres-Toulon and hope to win that game.
