There was an upset in Reims where higher ranked Champagne (7-8) was defeated by eleventh ranked Mondeville (6-9) 74-69 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was naturalized Moroccan Sarah Ousfar (183-1993) who scored 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Louise Bussiere (180-2002) chipped in 22 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jill Townsend (180, college: Gonzaga) who recorded 30 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Estonian power forward Maaja Bratka (190-1992, agency: LBM Management) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Four Champagne players scored in double figures. Mondeville moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Calais and Aulnoye. Loser Champagne keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with SIG. Mondeville will meet at home higher ranked Chartres (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
