There was a surprise result when fifteenth rankedHyeres-Toulon (4-6) beat on the road higher ranked Gries-Souffel (5-5) 74-69 on Friday. Strangely Gries-Souffel outrebounded Hyeres-Toulon 40-26 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Hyeres-Toulon especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Point guard Theo Lefebvre (180-1995) notched 14 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and guard Maxim Eugene (190-2000) supported him with 18 points. Even 16 points and 6 rebounds by Carl Ponsar (203-1997) did not help to save the game for Gries-Souffel . American Shannon Bogues (190-1997, college: SF Austin) added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Hyeres-Toulon moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Fos-sur-Mer and Vichy. Gries-Souffel lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with 4 other teams.
