Regular Season Round 20: Pole France - Tours 88-81

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Tours (12-8) against fourteenth ranked Pole France (4-16) on Friday night. Visiting Tours was defeated by Pole France in a tough game in Paris 81-88. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Tours. Pole France forced 20 Tours turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The winners were led by Noa Kouakou-Heugue (206-2007) who scored that evening 24 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Yael Masdieu-Reynaert (190-2008) supported him with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. Even 19 points and 5 rebounds by American Bernie Andre (198-1997, college: UT Martin) did not help to save the game for Tours. Point guard Theo Leon (180-1992) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists for the guests. Five Pole France and four Tours players scored in double figures. Pole France moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Poissy. Tours at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Pole France will play against higher ranked Lorient (#9) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tours will play against Les Sables (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
