Very expected game when 8th rankedMetropolitans (19-17) was rolled over on the road by second ranked STB Le Havre (27-9) 89-69 on Tuesday. Le Havre made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Kenyan-American forward Joel Awich (201-1993, college: Cal Poly) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Keith Wright (203-1989, college: Harvard) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five STB Le Havre players scored in double figures. At the losing side Mali forward Mamoudou Diarra (206-1997, college: Tenn Tech) responded with 9 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Mali swingman Samba Balayera (195-1996) scored 18 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Le Havre maintains second position with 27-9 record having just six point less than leader Quimper. Loser Metropolitans dropped to the ninth place with 17 games lost. Le Havre will meet league's leader Quimper on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Levallois will play against Mulhouse (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
