Regular Season Round 7: La Roche - Villeneuve 70-73

The most exciting game of round 7 in the LFB took place in La Roche. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 11th rankedLa Roche (1-6) to second ranked Villeneuve (5-1) 73-70 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Senegalese forward Sokhna Fall (185-2003, college: Casper CC) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Villeneuve's coach Maxime Bezin used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Stella Johnson (173-1998, college: Rider) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds and added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Villeneuve have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 5-1 record behind leader Landes. La Roche lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with six games lost. Villeneuve are looking forward to face Lyon (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. La Roche will play against the league's leader Landes in Mont de Marsan and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
