Regular Season Round 13: Champagne - Hainaut 52-49

A very close game took place in Reims between Champagne and Hainaut. Ninth ranked Champagne (7-6) got a very close home victory over 4th placed Hainaut (7-6). Champagne managed to escape with a 3-point win 52-49 in the fight for the fifth place. Champagne outrebounded Hainaut 37-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. Point guard Lauryn Vieira (160-2001, college: Eckerd) nailed 7 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists for the winning side and American forward Anya Poole (188, college: Clemson) accounted for 10 points and 10 rebounds. Senegalese forward Bigue Sarr (190, college: NM State) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Kendall Cooper (193-1995, college: Duke) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Hainaut in the defeat. Champagne moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Hainaut. Champagne will meet at home Monaco (#5) in the next round. Hainaut will play against the league's second-placed Montbrison and hope to secure a win.
