Regular Season Round 12: Angers - La Roche 69-76

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Angers (4-8) was defeated at home by tenth ranked La Roche (4-8) 76-69 on Sunday. La Roche outrebounded Angers 40-24 including a 28-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American point guard Stella Johnson (173-1998, college: Rider) who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. American-Nigerian center Rita Igbokwe (193-2001, college: Ole Miss) chipped in 8 points and 16 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Anna Ngo Ndjock (177-1999, college: Carleton) who recorded 28 points and 4 steals and American forward Sam Breen (185, college: UMass, agency: LBM Management) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively. La Roche moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Lyon and Angers. Angers lost fifth consecutive game. La Roche will meet at home bottom-ranked Toulouse (#12) in the next round. Angers will play against Lyon (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
