Regular Season Round 16: Aulnoye - SIG 76-80

We should mention about the upset which took place in Aulnoye, where higher ranked Aulnoye (10-6) lost at home to tenth ranked SIG (7-9) 76-80 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Aulnoye. SIG looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Axelle Mikorek (175-2002) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 9 assists and Cameroonian forward Marguerite Effa (190-1997, college: Nevada) who added 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side swingman Lou Bobst (175-2005) responded with 30 points and guard Johanna Muzet (183-1997, college: URI) scored 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Five SIG and four Aulnoye players scored in double figures. SIG maintains tenth position with 7-9 record, which they share with Bihorel. Loser Aulnoye keeps the fourth place with six games lost. SIG will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aulnoye will play against the league's second-placed La Tronche (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
