Regular Season Round 17: Monaco - PVBC 72-74

The most exciting game of round 17 in the LF2 took place in Monaco. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Monaco (9-8) to first ranked PVBC (13-4) 74-72 on Saturday evening. PVBC forced 33 Monaco turnovers. Strangely Monaco outrebounded PVBC 42-21 including a 27-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. PVBC looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Swingman Samantha Peytour (177-2002) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and American guard Jade Phillips (180-1997, college: Charlotte) chipped in 16 points and 5 steals. Four PVBC players scored in double figures. Julie Tetart responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 21 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and point guard Kimsy Demontoux (164-2002, agency: BIG) scored 9 points and 9 assists. PVBC maintains first place with 13-4 record, which they share with La Tronche. Newly promoted Monaco dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. PVBC is looking forward to face Champagne (#5) in Reims in the next round. Monaco will play at home against Mondeville and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
