Regular Season Round 24: Nice - Monaco 57-71

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Monaco (16-8) defeated on the road 11th ranked Nice (8-16) 71-57 on Saturday. Monaco outrebounded Nice 50-16 including a 19-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Julie Tetart who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 28 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Maud Stervinou (178-1997) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Fabienne Constant (188-1986) who recorded 10 points and 6 rebounds and Emma Villas-Gomis (190-1998, college: N.Texas) added 16 points respectively. Nice's coach tested ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Monaco have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Montbrison. Loser Nice dropped to the twelfth position with 16 games lost. Monaco will meet at home Hainaut (#7) in the next round. Nice will play against Le Havre (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
