Everything went according to plan when fifth rankedPoitiers (24-14) defeated at home 12th ranked Hyeres-Toulon (19-19) 81-75 on Friday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Poitiers dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Hyeres-Toulon 's 18. They outrebounded Hyeres-Toulon 42-24 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Aurele Brena-Chemille (192-2004, agency: Network Sports International) notched 11 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Marcus Hammond (191-2000, college: Notre Dame) supported him with 16 points. Even 14 points and 6 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) by Bosnian-American guard John Roberson (180-1988, college: Texas Tech) did not help to save the game for Hyeres-Toulon . Forward Elwin Ndjock (200-2001) added 15 points for the guests. Four Hyeres-Toulon players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Poitiers moved-up to third place, which they share with Blois and Orleans. Loser Hyeres-Toulon dropped to the eleventh position with 19 games lost. They share it with Aix-Maurienne and Gries-Souffel.
