Regular Season Round 10: Tskaltubo - Hyundai-TSU 66-95

Very significant was Hyundai-TSU's (#2, 7-3) victory against 3rd ranked Tskaltubo (5-5) 95-66. The game without a history. Hyundai-TSU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Tskaltubo's 30. Hyundai-TSU forced 23 Tskaltubo turnovers and outrebounded them 49-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. Point guard Sandro Sanadze (188-95) scored 28 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and South African center Christopher Gabriel (210-88, college: San Diego) chipped in 14 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Gabriel is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side Uzbekistani center Dmitry Sviridov (212-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and American point guard Brian Blackmon (188-89, college: Martin Methodist) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hyundai-TSU maintains second position with 7-3 record behind leader DELTA. Tskaltubo at the other side dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. Hyundai-TSU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi SEU Tbilisi.
