Regular Season Round 6: Free UNI - Sokhumi 66-71

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi:Sokhumi (#5) and Free UNI (#3). Free UNI was defeated at home 66-71 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Free UNI. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 21-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Sokhumi forced 25 Free UNI turnovers. American guard Trevante Anderson (185-2000, college: UIC, agency: Worldwide SM) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Edward Oliver-Hampton (202-1997, college: SC State) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Sokhumi players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American-Nigerian guard Brandon Anyanwu (193-1997, college: Bluefield St.) with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and American forward Cody Baer (208-2001, college: Eureka) scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Free UNI's coach Besik Lejava tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Sokhumi (2-4) moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Free UNI keeps the third position with three games lost.
