Regular Season Round 7: Vera - Burji 73-85

The biggest surprise of round 7 in A League was guestBurji 's (2-5) road victory over Vera (#6) 85-73 on Tuesday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Burji. Vera managed to win third quarter 22-18 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Burji had a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Isaiah Wilkins (193-2000, college: Longwood) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Zaza Gagnidze (197-1993) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Iranian power forward Sarem Jafari (207-2005, agency: BIG) produced 8 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Christian Montague (185-1999, college: West Liberty) added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Five Burji and four Vera players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Burji moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sokhumi. Vera lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with six games lost.
