Regular Season Round 30: Basco - Sokhumi 81-67

Rather predictable result in Batumi where eleventh ranked Basco (8-15) defeated 13th ranked Sokhumi (2-20) 81-67 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Basco. Sokhumi managed to win fourth quarter 22-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Basco forced 19 Sokhumi turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Saba Surmanidze (-2007) who had a triple-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Saba Khimshiashvili (-2007) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Merabi Guruli (190-2007) who recorded 30 points and 4 assists and Iura Kvirikashvili (203-2009) added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Basco moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Wings. Sokhumi lost thirteenth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. Basco will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sokhumi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Brooklyn.
