Regular Season Round 7: EWE Baskets - Braunschweig 84-70

Date: November 1, 2014
Very predictable result in Oldenburg where fourth ranked EWE Baskets (6-1) beat 13th ranked Braunschweig (2-5) 84-70. The game was mostly controlled by EWE Baskets. Braunschweig was better in third quarter 31-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for EWE Baskets especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Adam Chubb (208-81, college: Pennsylvania) who led the winners and scored 23 points. Serbian power forward Nemanja Aleksandrov (210-87) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Four EWE Baskets players scored in double figures. American point guard Dru Joyce (183-85, college: Akron, agency: LUMANI 10.7) came up with 14 points and 4 assists and the other American import forward Tim Abromaitis (203-89, college: Notre Dame) added 15 points respectively for Braunschweig in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for EWE Baskets. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Brose Bask. and B.Muenchen. Braunschweig at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. EWE Baskets' next round opponent will be Mitteldeutscher BC (#5) in Weissenfels. Braunschweig will play on the road against Phoenix Hagen (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
