Regular Season Round 19: Ehingen - Elchingen 89-95

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (15-4) in Allmendingen on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Elchingen (10-9) 95-89. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Ehingen/Urspringschule. 28 personal fouls committed by Ehingen/Urspringschule helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Lorne Jackson (188-90, college: Pepperdine) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Brian Butler (194-91, agency: Mansfield and Associates) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Elchingen players scored in double figures. American point guard Devon Moore (193-89, college: JMU) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 assists and the other American import forward Daniel Berger (203-90, college: BYU-Hawaii) added 21 points in the effort for Ehingen/Urspringschule. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Elchingen moved-up to fifth place in South, which they share with Leipzig. Ehingen/Urspringschule at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with Karlsruhe. Elchingen is looking forward to face league's second-placed BG Karlsruhe at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ehingen/Urspringschule will play against Speyer and is hoping to win this game.
