Regular Season Round 2: Chemnitz - Ehingen 81-71

Date: October 1, 2016
Not a big story in a game when Ehingen/Urspringschule (0-2) was defeated on the road by Chemnitz (2-0) 81-71 on Saturday. Chemnitz made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Chemnitz outrebounded Ehingen/Urspringschule 41-26 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Malte Ziegenhagen (199-91, college: Kaiser) scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Joe Lawson (201-92, college: Indianapolis, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Lawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Chemnitz players scored in double figures. American guard Kameron Taylor (198-94, college: Seton Hill) responded with 28 points and 4 assists and his fellow American import guard Fred Miller (193-92, college: USC Upstate) scored 10 points. Ehingen/Urspringschule's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chemnitz will face MLP Academics Heidelberg on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ehingen/Urspringschule will play against Oettinger Rockets Gotha (#8) and hope to win that game.
