The most exciting game of round 8 in the NBBL took place in Jena. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of bottom-rankedJena (0-5) to sixth ranked Akademie Muenchen (3-4) 70-67 in the game for the fifth place. IBAM forced 33 Jena turnovers. Strangely Jena outrebounded IBAM 52-33 including 19 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Joshua Greene (180-2006) who scored 26 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Darren Maglocky (192-2007) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. IBAM moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hagen BBA. Jena at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Quakenbrueck and Hanau.
