Regular Season Round 12: Langen - Bensheim 74-56

Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Bensheim (2-9) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Langen (8-2) 74-56 on Saturday. Langen outrebounded Bensheim 45-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Henk Droste (195-2001) who scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Point guard Maxim Schneider (184-1992) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Marc Liyanage (199-1990, college: Delta St.) who recorded 16 points and 9 rebounds and guard Richard Maurer (190-1990) added 11 points respectively. Langen moved-up to third place, which they share with Lich Basketball. Newly promoted Bensheim dropped to the fifteenth position with nine games lost. Langen will meet league's second-placed Giessen on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bensheim will have a break next round.
