The most exciting game of round 13 in the Regionalliga took place in Braunschweig. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd placedBraunschweig (9-4) to fourth ranked Westerstede (9-3) 87-85 in the game for the third place. Westerstede forced 19 Braunschweig turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Swingman Alan Boger (194-1996) stepped up and scored 32 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Gaspar Kocevar chipped in 23 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side swingman Benjamin Schroeder (201-2003, college: GWU, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 28 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Simon Roosch (198-2001) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Five Braunschweig players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Westerstede moved-up to third place, which they share with Giessen. Braunschweig lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with four games lost.
