There was an upset when higher rankedSchwelm (8-5) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Neustadt TSV (3-11) 91-79 on Saturday. Nicolas Lagerman (194-2001, college: Cardinal Stritch) scored 25 points to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Shawn Scott (185-1996, college: SW Christian) chipped in 9 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Neustadt TSV's coach Allan Ray used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Jonathan Almstedt (208-1999) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and Till Hornscheidt (188-2001) scored 17 points. Five Schwelm players scored in double figures. Neustadt TSV moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Ehingen and Rostock Acad. Loser Schwelm dropped to the sixth position with five games lost.
