Very expected game when 10th rankedMarburg (4-11) was defeated on the road by second ranked ALBA Berlin (13-2) 76-70 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. ALBA Berlin made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. ALBA Berlin outrebounded Marburg 34-17 including a 27-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. ALBA Berlin looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for the former international forward Marie Bertholdt (183-1995, college: Santa Clara) who led her team to a victory scoring 11 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Canadian swingman Tessa Stammberger (180-1993, college: Dalhousie) helped adding 13 points. ALBA Berlin's coach Cristo Cabrera used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American swingman Hailey Leidel (180-1997, college: UMass) with 16 points and 5 steals and Australian guard Caitlyn Jones (175-2001, college: Idaho) scored 15 points. ALBA Berlin have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 13-2 record behind leader Keltern. Loser Marburg keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Veilchen.
