There was an upset when one of their biggest challengersHagen-Haspe (11-7) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Herford (10-7) 86-69 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of French guard Jawaad Tonye-Biyik (185-2002) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 assists and Christopher Herget (194-2004) who added 10 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Herford players scored in double figures. At the losing side Danish power forward Peter Beier-Christiansen (204-2002) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and guard Finn Pook (193-2004, college: Limestone) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Herford have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Salzkotten. Loser Hagen-Haspe keeps the fourth position with seven games lost.
