We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th rankedFreiburg 2 (6-7) lost at home to seventh ranked Stuttgart MTV (6-6) 76-67 on Sunday. Stuttgart MTV forced 22 Freiburg 2 turnovers. American point guard Chanell Williams (163-1999, college: URI) nailed 26 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and swingman Anastasia Schlipf (180-2004) accounted for 14 points and 4 assists. Czech power forward Karla Gergelova (186-1988, college: UNLV) came up with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international forward Stephanie Wagner (182-1990) added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Freiburg 2 in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Stuttgart MTV moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Braunschweig. Loser Freiburg 2 dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Stuttgart MTV will meet at home Saarlouis/Dillin. (#5) in the next round. Freiburg 2 will play against Bamberg and hope to secure a win.
