There was a small surprise when fourth rankedBasketball-Akademie (8-4) beat second-ranked RheinStars Koeln (9-3) in Giessen 72-56 on Sunday. Forward Christian Mann (199-2006) notched 13 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and Estonian guard Karl Vandra (190-2006) supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Even 14 points and 7 rebounds by forward Jan Troemel (203-2006) did not help to save the game for Koeln RS . Forward Marko Cuvalo (204-2008) added 8 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Basketball-Akademie have an impressive five-game winning streak. Giessen moved-up to third place, which they share with Sudhessen. Loser RheinStars Koeln keeps the second position with three games lost.
