Regular Season Round 16: Muenchen Ost - Wasserburg 64-75

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Muenchen Ost (0-16) lost at home to fourth ranked TSV 1880 (12-4) 75-64 on Saturday. Strangely Muenchen Ost outrebounded Wasserburg 47-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by point guard Maria Perner (178-2006) who scored that evening 19 points and Canadian guard Kate Hill (170-1997, college: La Salle) supported her with 16 points and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds by guard Marlene Stechl (169-1998) did not help to save the game for Muenchen Ost. Center Patricia Walz (189-2004) added 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. TSV 1880 have a solid three-game winning streak. Wasserburg maintains fourth position with 12-4 record. Newly promoted Muenchen Ost still closes the standings with 16 games lost. Wasserburg will meet at home Bamberg (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Muenchen Ost will play against Stuttgart MTV and hopes to get finally their first victory.
