There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Oberhausen (4-11) rolled over at home higher ranked Recklinghausen (10-5) 50-24 on Saturday. Oberhausen dominated down low during the game scoring 32 of its points in the paint compared to Recklinghausen's 12. The winners were led by Laura Telke (-2007) who scored that evening 17 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Lauren Fech (173-1998) supported her with 7 points and 4 assists. Oberhausen's coach Nicole Telke felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 8 points by swingman Henriette Ehling (175-1999) did not help to save the game for Recklinghausen. Point guard Lucie Keune (-2007) added 3 points for lost side. Oberhausen moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Bielefeld and Neuss. Loser Recklinghausen keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Oberhausen will meet at home higher ranked Braunschweig (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Recklinghausen will play against Gruenberg and hope to secure a win.
