There was an upset when higher rankedBraunschweig (6-10) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Oberhausen (5-11) 59-49 on Saturday. Oberhausen held Braunschweig to an opponent 23.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 28.1 percent accuracy of the winners and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Oberhausen outrebounded Braunschweig 55-35 including a 42-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Sarah Zierhut who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Paula Kohl (192-1999) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Oberhausen's coach Nicole Telke used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. British Harriet Swindells (175-1999, college: Barry) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and American center Emma Fee (185-1999, college: Winona St.) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Oberhausen moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Mainz and Bielefeld. Braunschweig lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Rhein-Main.
