Regular Season Round 21: Soeflingen - Giessen 76-65

There was an upset in Ulm where 4th placed Giessen (13-6) was defeated by eleventh ranked Soeflingen (7-12) 76-65 on Sunday. Center Marko Markovic stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Patrick Antic (197-2001) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Soeflingen's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Miles Mallory (196, college: RMC) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and naturalized Serbian Nemanja Nadjfeji (198-2000) scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Soeflingen moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Saarlouis and Bensheim. Loser Giessen keeps the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Braunschweig. Soeflingen will meet league's leader SC Wizards in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Giessen will play against Frankfurt Makk. and hope to secure a win.
