Regular Season Round 20: Halle - Noerdlingen 76-71

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Noerdlingen's (7-13) road loss to seventh ranked Halle (11-9) 71-76. Halle forced 22 Noerdlingen turnovers. Strangely Noerdlingen outrebounded Halle 38-22 including 29 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by Australian Taylah Simmons (185-1997, college: Southeastern) who scored that evening 17 points and 6 assists and American forward Krystal Freeman (183-1999, college: Tulane) supported her with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) by Canadian forward Nicole Fransson (188-2000) did not help to save the game for Noerdlingen. American guard Jayda Jansen (175-2000, college: Toledo) added 14 points and 7 assists for the guests. Halle have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Herner and Hannover. Noerdlingen at the other side keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Marburg. Halle will play against league's leader Keltern in Remchingen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Noerdlingen will play at home against Leverkusen (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
