There was a minor upset in Essen where 6th rankedSchwelm (10-10) was defeated by eighth ranked ETB Miners (10-10) 74-64 on Saturday. ETB Miners outrebounded Schwelm 41-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Isaiah Sanders (196-2000, college: Fairmont St.) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 7 rebounds and Montenegrin center Dzemal Selimovic (205-1999) who added 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. ETB Miners' coach Lars Wendt used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Robert Merz (198-2000) responded with 20 points and naturalized American Chris Frazier (182-1990, college: Dubuque) scored 13 points. ETB Miners moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 7 other teams including defeated Schwelm . Schwelm lost third consecutive game.
