Sixth-rankedHerner (11-11) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Saarlouis (16-6) on Saturday. The visitors from Saarlouis managed to secure only two-point victory 68-66 . However their fans expected easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of American Erika Davenport (182-1997, college: Marquette) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Lithuanian forward Gabija Meskonyte (181-1998) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Australian center Darcy Rees (193-2000, college: Washington) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and American forward Allison Day (185-2000, college: BGSU) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Herner. Four Herner players scored in double figures. Herner's coach Jelena Skerovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Saarlouis have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 16-6 record having four points less than leader Keltern. Herner at the other side keeps the sixth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Halle.
