There was a surprise result when twelfth rankedEWE Baskets (12-11) beat on the road higher ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (12-12) 79-66 on Saturday. Oldenburg made 29-of-38 free shots (76.3 percent) during the game. Estonian Artur Konontsuk (202-2000, college: Southern Miss) nailed 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and the former international point guard Len Schoormann (192-2002) accounted for 17 points. Naturalized Cuban Yorman Polas-Bartolo (191-1985) came up with 14 points and 7 rebounds and American Justin Simon (196-1996, college: St.John's, agency: Octagon Europe) added 10 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Ludwigsburg in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. EWE Baskets have a solid series of three victories in a row. Oldenburg moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Weissenfels and Wuerzburg. Ludwigsburg lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost.
