There was a surprise result when seventh rankedHerford (15-12) defeated on the road higher ranked Wulfen (18-9) 89-75 on Saturday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Herford made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American forward Tristan Harper (198-2000, college: Langston) who scored 31 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Slovenian Timon Petrovic (200-2004) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Herford's coach Nicolai Coputerco used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Tarik Jakupovic (200-2003) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds and Alexander Winck (195-2000) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Herford moved-up to sixth place, which they share with HammStars. Loser Wulfen keeps the third position with nine games lost.
