There was no surprise when 12th rankedHamburg Towers (15-16) were defeated at home by fifth ranked Chemnitz (18-13) 93-88 on Wednesday. Chemnitz looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American point guard Jacob Gilyard (175-1998, college: Richmond) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners and his fellow American import Victor Bailey Jr (193-1998, college: GMU) chipped in 23 points. The best for the losing side was American point guard Brae Ivey (187-1997, college: SJSU, agency: LHZ Sport Agency) with 17 points, 6 assists and 5 steals and South Sudanese-American power forward Kur Kuath (208-1998, college: Marquette) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Chemnitz have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Braunschweig and Wuerzburg. Hamburg lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Oldenburg.
