An interesting game forBasCats (7-2) which played road game in Freiburg against 4th ranked Freiburg 2 (5-4). Second ranked BasCats had an easy win 89-66 . Heidelberg forced 20 Freiburg 2 turnovers. American guard Kelly Moten (173-1993, college: Emporia St.) notched 26 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals (made all of her seven free throws) to lead the effort and Melanie Hoyt supported her with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Even 23 points by did not help to save the game for Freiburg 2 . Stephanie Wagner added 14 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BasCats have a solid four-game winning streak. Heidelberg maintains second position with 7-2 record having six points less than leader Bad Homburg. Loser Freiburg 2 dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Stuttgart MTV. Heidelberg will meet at home Stuttgart MTV (#6) in the next round. Freiburg 2 will play against Mainz and hope to secure a win.
