Important game to mention about took place in Stuttgart. Second rankedBasCats (11-4) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Stuttgart MTV (7-7) 70-68 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. American power forward Melanie Hoyt (188-2003, college: St.Anselm) stepped up and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import guard Kelly Moten (173-1993, college: Emporia St.) chipped in 8 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Four BasCats players scored in double figures. Guard Selma Yesilova (176-2001) responded with 28 points and point guard Joanna Scheu (167-2005) scored 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Heidelberg maintains second place with 11-4 record having eight points less than leader Bad Homburg. Stuttgart MTV at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost.
