Chemnitz (#5) was upset in Berlin by eighth ranked Lichterfelde 74-59 . Lichterfelde forced 24 ChemCats turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Lichterfelde brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Swingman Helen Spaine (173-2003) nailed 21 points for the winning side and the former international center Ama Degbeon (188-1995, college: FSU) accounted for 11 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Erin Stroberg (185-2000, college: Regis Univ.) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Lilly Kuppers (183-2004) added 20 points and 11 rebounds respectively for ChemCats in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lichterfelde (8-12) moved-up to seventh place. Chemnitz lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost.
