Bottom-rankedHuerther BC is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their 21th consecutive match to second ranked Rheinland (20-1) 83-52 on Saturday evening. Leverkusen made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Huerther BC turnovers and outrebounded them 46-23 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Tessa Brugler (185-1999, college: Drexel) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 19 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Kendra Parra (175-2001, college: Weber St.) accounted for 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Five Rheinland players scored in double figures. Greta Mengelkamp (173-2001) came up with 8 points and Sena Balci (169-2000) added 8 points respectively for Huerther BC in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourteenth consecutive win for Rheinland . Leverkusen maintains second place with 20-1 record behind leader Bad Homburg. Huerther BC lost their twenty first game in a row. They still close the standings with 21 games lost.
