There was a minor upset in New Eritrea where 8th ranked Panerythraikos (8-10) was defeated by tenth ranked Doukas (8-10) 58-53 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 58-53. Doukas made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Doukas had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. Panerythraikos was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Serbian center Stefan Djordjevic (206-89) who scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Alexis Kiritsis (198-82) chipped in 15 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Forward Giannis Prodromou (196-87) produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and guard Loukas Giaourtoglou (192-85) added 11 points respectively for the hosts. Panerythraikos' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Doukas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Panerythraikos and Psyhiko. Doukas will face higher ranked Livadia (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
