The game in Patra was also quite interesting. Third ranked Aris (18-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Apollon Patras (9-14). Aris managed to secure a 8-point victory 73-65 on Saturday. The game without a history. Aris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Jerel McNeal (191-87, college: Marquette) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 5 assists. American-Israeli Jake Cohen (209-90, college: Davidson) accounted for 8 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Aris' coach Dimitris Priftis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Tony Woods (211-90, college: Oregon) came up with 13 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Devon Saddler (183-91, college: Delaware, agency: Octagon Europe) added 14 points respectively for Apollon Patras in the defeat. Five Apollon Patras players scored in double figures. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Aris. They maintain third place with 18-5 record having four points less than leader Olympiacos. Apollon Patras at the other side keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Lavrio and Nea Kifisia. Aris will meet at home league's leader Olympiacos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Apollon Patras will play against Lavrio (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
