Finals Game 2: AEK Athens - Aris 89-84

Date: May 21, 2016
AEK Athens opened 2-0 lead in the Bronze medals series after they claimed an ugly home win over Aris. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-14. But Aris won third quarter 26-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aris was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized Serbian Dusan Sakota (210-86, agency: Beo Basket) notched 22 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and American swingman Marc Antonio Carter (191-85, college: NC-Wilmington) supported him with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 20 points and 7 rebounds by American forward Okaro White (206-92, college: Florida St.) did not help to save the game for Aris. Guard Thodoris Zaras (197-88) added 22 points for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game.
