Regular Season Round 26: Iraklis - AE Larissas 71-65

Everything went according to plan in Thessaloniki where second ranked Iraklis (23-3) beat 9th ranked AE Larissas (12-14) 71-65 on Wednesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was forward Vasilis Angelakopoulos (203-79) who scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Yannis Gagaloudis (192-78) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Iraklis' coach Vangelis Alexandris used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Icelandic center Sigurdur Thorsteinsson (204-88) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and guard Theodoros Tsiloulis (190-93) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Iraklis have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Panionios. Newly promoted AE Larissas keeps the ninth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Amyntas Dafnis. Iraklis will meet Doxa Pefkon (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. AE Larissas will play against Kavala and hope to secure a win.
