Regular Season Round 5: Peristeri GS - Ermis Agias 80-51

A2 top team - Peristeri GS (5-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Ermis Agias (2-3) in Athens 80-51. The game without a history. Peristeri GS led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Ermis Agias' 28. Peristeri GS players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Ermis Agias' players. Center Gaios Skordilis (207-87, agency: Diamond Sports) nailed 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and guard Spyros Magounis (200-85) accounted for 19 points. Peristeri GS's coach Nikos Karagiannis felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Dimitris Lolas (203-86) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds and guard Leonidas Triantafillou (190-88) added 16 points respectively for Ermis Agias in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Peristeri GS have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Peristeri GS maintains first place with 5-0 record. Ermis Agias at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Peristeri GS will play against Doxa Lefkadas (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Ermis Agias will play against Karditsas and hopes to get back on the winning track.
