Regular Season Round 10: Ethnikos - AE Larissas 76-68

Rather expected game when 14th ranked AE Larissas (2-8) lost to eleventh ranked Ethnikos (4-6) in Pireus 68-76 on Saturday. AE Larissas trailed by 17 points after 3 quarters before a 26-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 68-76 at the end of the game. AE Larissas was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for swingman Paraskevas Martzos (197-85) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 8 rebounds. Center Kostas Macheras (205-85) contributed with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Guard Nikolaos Kamaras (196-97) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and forward Sotiris Gioulekas (203-79) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for AE Larissas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. AE Larissas' coach Christos Hasanidis tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ethnikos moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Marousi. AE Larissas lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Ethnikos will face Arkadikos (#15) in Arkadia in the next round where they are favorite. AE Larissas will play at home against Doxa Lefkadas and hope to win that game.
