Regular Season Round 15: Peristeri GS - Amyntas Dafnis 88-68

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Athens: Peristeri GS (#1) and Amyntas Dafnis (#5). Peristeri GS (15-0) crushed visiting Amyntas Dafnis (9-6) by 20 points 88-68. The game was mostly controlled by Peristeri GS. Amyntas Dafnis managed to win third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Peristeri GS made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for guard Spyros Magounis (200-85) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 5 rebounds. American-Bulgarian point guard Keydren Clark (180-84, college: St.Peter's) helped adding 17 points. The best for the losing side was point guard Giorgos Kerasovitis (190-81) with 10 points and 4 assists and forward Panag Koukounias (199-88) scored 13 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Peristeri GS have an impressive series of fifteen victories in a row. Newly promoted Peristeri GS maintains first place with 15-0 record. Loser Amyntas Dafnis dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Peristeri GS will meet at home bottom-ranked AE Larissas (#16) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Amyntas Dafnis' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Psychiko.
