A very interesting game took place in Pireus. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Amyntas Dafnis (10-7) to eleventh ranked Ethnikos (8-9) 69-66 on Saturday evening. Ethnikos outrebounded Amyntas Dafnis 39-28 including 34 on the defensive glass. 30 personal fouls committed by Amyntas Dafnis helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Center Kostas Macheras (205-85) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Estonian point guard Rait-Riivo Laane (179-93) contributed with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Leonidas Zoupas (182-82) answered with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Andriano Topalis (201-87) added 11 points in the effort for Amyntas Dafnis. Four Amyntas Dafnis players scored in double figures. Amyntas Dafnis' coach Alexis Zavos rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Ethnikos. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams.
