Regular Season Round 13: Maroussi - Psychikou 84-72

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Athens: Maroussi (#6) and Psychikou (#7). Maroussi (8-5) won against visiting Psychikou (7-6) 84-72. 25 personal fouls committed by Psychikou helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Nikolaos Kamarianos (204-1997) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and point guard Orfeas Stasinos (183-1988) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Four Maroussi players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Ronaldo Segu (183-1999, college: Buffalo) responded with 22 points and 4 assists and point guard Georgios Koukas (179-1985) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maroussi moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Papagou and Eleftheroupoli. Psychikou lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Koroivos. Maroussi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena AO Triton.
